MONACA – Rep. Jim Christiana (R-Beaver) would like to inform local residents that in cooperation with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s Campaign to End Hunger, his district office in Monaca will now be accepting non-perishable food donations to benefit the Salvation Army-Beaver County.

HARRISBURG — A major piece of legislation aimed at permitting impact fees on Marcellus Shale natural gas wells has been the topic of debate this week in the state House of Representatives. The debate culminated today with the passage of House Bill 1950 by a final vote of 107-76, said Rep. Jim Christiana (R-Beaver).

Rep. Jim Christiana (R-Beaver) today unveiled his legislation, House Bill 1708, which would create the ‘Students and Schools Rescue Act’. This legislation targets relief to students from low-income families attending failing schools, while increasing opportunities for the children of middle-income families to choose an alternative education system through a major expansion of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC).
