Rep. Jim Christiana (R-Beaver) is scheduled to conduct two area town hall meetings next week. Residents from the 15th Legislative District are encouraged to attend these meetings where community issues and legislative matters, such as the state budget, will be discussed.

The town hall meetings are scheduled for:

• 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, at the Brighton Township Municipal Building.
  
• 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 13, at the Center Township Municipal Building. 

“Our state budget talks are finally heating up,” Christiana said. “The governor is calling for tax increases and additional borrowing to fix a budget mess he largely created. My town hall meetings are a great way for area residents to come out and tell me their thoughts and offer possible solutions.”

The governor’s proposal for Pennsylvania’s operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year, due July 1, calls for tax increases, taxing previously untaxed items, and faces a shortfall of nearly $2 billion.

“I conduct town hall meetings for one reason and one reason only; to hear my constituents’ thoughts on how we can make our Commonwealth the best it can be,” Christiana added. “Whether we’re discussing senior-related issues, education, crime, or the state budget, my neighbors’ opinions matter the most to me. That is why I have scheduled two town hall meetings for next week, to make it as convenient as possible for all residents in my district to attend.”

The Brighton Township Municipal Building is located at 1300 Brighton Rd., Beaver. The Center Township Municipal Building is located at 224 Center Grange Rd., Aliquippa.
